Michael Ivy is the Chief Medical Officer for Gaylord Specialty Healthcare. He assumed that role in March of 2024. Prior to that, he was the Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Yale New Haven Health System, a role he was in from Nov 2019 until Feb 2024. Before that, he served as the interim CEO at Bridgeport Hospital for one year. He was Chief Medical Officer at Bridgeport Hospital from 2012 until 2018 after being Vice President for Performance and Risk Management from 2007 to 2012. He was Associate Director of Surgery at Hartford Hospital from 2004 to 2007. Prior to that, Dr. Ivy served as the Chief of Trauma, Burns and Surgical Critical Care at Bridgeport Hospital and the Associate Program Director for the Yale General Surgery Residency.
Dr. Ivy graduated with an MD from the University of Connecticut. He completed his general surgery residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego. After leaving the Navy, he completed a Surgical Critical Care fellowship at Yale. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Critical Care Medicine.
