Kim has been a nurse for over 35 years and has been CCRN certified for 22 years. She has worked in SICU, MICU, CCU, and the Burn Unit. In addition to these populations, she has experience with Trauma, Neuro-trauma, and Cardio-thoracic patients. Supporting critical care education, Kim has lectured for critical care transition courses for multiple hospitals. Four years as a surgery-trauma research coordinator prepared her well for her current role as trauma program manager for a Level I Trauma Center that evaluates almost 5000 patients a year. As an extension of her love of education, Kim is active on the TCAA Education Committee as the chair, and acts as the ATLS Site Coordinator for Yale Medicine/Yale New Haven Hospital. Acting as a review consultant, Kim supported the successful verification of two level 3 trauma programs. Beyond trauma, Kim has also had the opportunity to work collaboratively at the health system level to develop a new, contemporary system-level nursing clinical advancement program. She is also a doctoral graduate from the University of New Haven’s Doctor of Health Sciences, Healthcare Leadership program.
